Admission to The Montessori School of Holmes Run for the Children’s House and the Upper School for grades 1-6 begins with a classroom observation. Parents are invited to spend part of a morning in a class to help in understanding how our environments foster learning. After the observation, a staff member will be available to answer any questions you have.

Once you have observed and completed an application, your child will be invited to spend a day in class if applying to the Upper School (grades 1-6), or to interview with a teacher if applying to the Children’s House (2 1/2- Kindergarten). These interviews are a chance for the teachers to work with your child and assess his or her readiness for the program. After your child’s visit at the Upper School or your child’s interview at the Children’s House, a teacher will be available to talk with you about your child’s experience.

Admission to our Middle School (grades 7-8) program will start with a visit with the Middle School teacher. During this visit, the teacher will explain the Middle School curriculum and answer any questions that you may have. The teacher will also discuss your student’s previous academic experience.

You will receive a letter in the mail of your child’s acceptance.

To schedule an observation, please call the school office of the program that you are interested in observing; Children’s House (2 1/2 – Kindergarten) 703-573-7599, Upper School (grades 1-8) 703-573-4652 or use the “contact us” tab on our website.
